Section 77
If the case is not decided within a certain period, he can be released from prison
(1) According to this paragraph, if the case cannot be disposed of within one year from the date set for the first time to take evidence in relation to an accused who is detained for trial, if such accused is kept in detention, the case may be processed and disposed of by taking bail or bail: but-
(a) If any accused accused of any offense punishable with imprisonment for life or ten years or more is imprisoned under section 67, this section shall not apply to him.
(b) If the court deems it necessary, the offender may be kept in custody and prosecuted.
(2) If a court has ordered the release of an accused in accordance with sub-section (1), the court hearing the appeal shall be informed of the same within three days of giving such release order.
